The Granary
“The Granary, Richmond Hill was originally built by convicts as an enormous barn from sandstone and brick that was carted by bullock from a property 20kms away. It has had many uses over the years; granary, stable, worker’s quarters, shearing shed and very recently - host to many lovely visitors.
Nestled off the well worn tourist track in complete privacy within a magical setting, the Granary provides the ideal base to explore all that Northern Tasmania has to offer. Bathed in light and providing all the creature comforts of home, the Granary is now a magnificent 3 bedroom house, offering spectacular views of majestic oak trees, nearby mountains and the Macquarie River. Located 20 minutes from Launceston Airport, the Granary provides a luxurious country escape.
Regardless of the season, the Richmond Hill garden always has something to offer its visitors. For those garden lovers seeking maximum colour and texture, Spring is undoubtedly the best time of year to visit. A complimentary tour of the main homestead garden is available for Granary guests.”
